GDC Ramban organized one day workshop on NEP-2020

RAMBAN, June 11: Institution Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Govt. Degree College Ramban organized one day workshop on NEP-2020 under the overall supervision of worthy Principal - Prof. Archana Kaul. The Principals, Lecturers and other faculty members from the nine Higher Secondary Schools including GHSS Batote, GHSS Kanthi, GHSS Gandhri, GHSS Ramban, GHSS Ukhral, GHSS Pogal, GHSS Senabatti, HSS Dhandrath and GHSS Rajgarh of District Ramban attended the workshops. The workshop commenced with the formal welcome address by Prof. Satish Kumar Associate professor, coordinator of the IQAC of the College in which he highlighted the objectives of organizing the workshop for officials of school education department. The workshop highlighted three important aspects of NEP-2020 - Key Features, Admission Process and Curriculum & Norms for UG admissions.
The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Romesh Chander (Sr. Assistant Professor of Economics), Dr. Rabinder Kumar (Assistant Professor of Hindi) and Prof. Ram Parkash (Assistant Professor of Math). Dr. Romesh Chander in his lecture highlighted that NEP-2020 envisions a higher education system that is not just about acquiring degrees but about holistic development, critical thinking and preparing individuals for the challenges of the 21st century. Dr. Rabinder Kumar deliberated upon in detail about the stages in admission processes under NEP-2020 and highlighted the difficulties faced by the students especially the students belonging to far flung areas and how they can be overcome. Prof. Ram Parkash discussed the detailed structure and curriculum of undergraduate courses and also explained the preparedness of the college for the coming admission process.
The chief guest of the occasion, Principal GDC Ramban - Prof Archana Kaul - in her address highlighted the main objective behind organizing the workshop, whereby the faculty of the school education department is to be made aware about NEP-2020, so they may guide the students timely. She further emphasized that the school education department should come forward and collaborates with GDC Ramban to aware the students so that more and more students come forward for higher studies under NEP-2020. About 60 participants including the Principals and faculty from school education department and faculty of the college attended the workshop. The proceedings of the event were meticulously organized by Dr. Vishal Baloria (Assistant Professor History).
