NC pays floral tributes to Afzal Beigh, Mohi-ud-Din Shah on their death anniversaries

JAMMU, June 11: Rich tributes were paid to Mirza Mohd Afzal Beigh and Kh. Ghulam Mohi -ud-Din Shah on their 42nd and 20th Death Anniversaries respectively during a function held at Sher-i-Kashmir Bhawan Jammu.
Addressing the gathering, Additional General Secretary and former minister Ajay Kumar Sadhotra said that late Mirza Mohd Afzal Beigh and Kh. Mohi-Ud- Din Shah would be remembered for a long time to come for their historical role which they played during their lifetime by serving the state in various capacities . He said Beigh was Architect of land reform act and abolition of big landed Estate Act. He was also close associate of late Sher -I- Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and remained with him for a long time in Jail also. He was instrumental of 1975 accord between late Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi and Sher -I- Kashmir Sheikh Mohd Abdullah referring to late Mohi -ud-Din Shah.
Rattan Lal Gupta Provincial President Jammu Province said these two leaders served the state and that they were part of movement launched under the leadership of late Sher -I- Kashmir in J&K State in the early forties .True tributes would be to follow their path and complete the work which they could not complete during their life time.They were close associates of Sher-i- Kashmir Sheikh Mohd Abdullah and remained jail during freedom struggle. Both were eminent advocates of J&K High Court.
Among those who were present on the occasion include: Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Provincial Secretary Jammu Province, Abdul Gani Malik Zonal President Udhampur Reasi and former minister, Pardeep Bali Provincial Secretary Jammu, Abdul Gani Teli Chairman OBC Cell, Vijay Laxmi Datta Sr leader,Rita Gupta Vice President Central Zone, Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zone, Waris Gill President Christian Cell, S.Tejinder Singh District President Jammu Urban YNC, S. Nirmal Singh, S. Gurnam Singh Block President Jammu East, Sahil Kerni, Jatinder Kumar and others.
