JAMMU, July 1: Dr. Mohan Lal Dogra, a versatile personality in the field of Performing Art and Education ,hailing from the UT of Jammu and Kashmir, has been honored with the prestigious "RABINDRA RATNA PURASKAR 2024 " awarded by the John Thomas, Chairman & Chandrasekhar KN, Award Committee, Ratna Puraskar National Committee, VEYIL foundation (Sun-Shine) recognized by Govt. of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs. This national NGO is dedicated to working towards the Sustainable Development Goal set by the United Nations. Dr.Dogra's excellence in the category of Performing Art and Education has earned him this esteemed award, recognizing his outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian Folk Music and Dance. As a Folk Theatre Director and multi-talented traditional theatre artist, Dr. Dogra has set a prominent benchmark for the promotion of Folk Music and dance dramas, also known as Musical Plays. His exceptional work and dedication have earned him various prestigious awards, making him a true legendary icon in the world of Performing Art. Dr. Dogra's enthusiasm and dedication to promoting India's rich Folk Dance and Folk Songs culture have been evident in his numerous accomplishments, including the authorship of high-selling books, the creation of original Dogri songs, and the financial support he provides to hundreds of artists under his mentorship.
Dr.Dogra worked in Directorate of Field Publicity and Song and Drama Division ,Ministry of Information and broadcasting ,Government of India as media person for awareness I.E.C. activities especially on health education. In addition to promotion of the traditional culture of Jammu and Kashmir ,he produced light and sound performances and presented in national Festival like Kumbh Melas,Haridwar, Allahbad ,Ladakh Festivals and Sadbhavna Samrohs and Autumn Festivals Navratra Festivals in various state of India "Dogra's main theatre productions are Maa Sheran Wali,Raja Mandlik, Kathoti Main Ganga, Ram Charit Manas, Bhasmasur, Doli , Rang Dari Deo in Dogri / Kamauni, Hindustani theatre style and he bring the same international notice and was honoured by the Global empire events. Dr.Dogra one of the few names of the country who have made a unique contribution in establishing a folk Theatre workshops for children of Govt. Schools in coordination with J&K Social welfare departments, cultural performances, Musical Plays (Opera's) Jammu and Kashmir and other states of India. He has created over three dozen Dance drama spectacles on health and social evils which really represent the ethos, aspirations of the society and started a weekend two shows called Saturday musical Play and Friday Music Concerts, (One is on Health and other social evils)and reflected in the Regional, National papers, Radio and Doordarshan and social media on Face Book,youtube, instagram and Twitter and local channel.
Dr.Dogra's work has made way for his reorganization from the Media houses and he has been decorated with more than 30 awards from the Government and other renowned nationally and internationally organizations, mainly cultural bonaza award-1995 on world population day by Ministry of Health and Family welfare Information Broadcasting for best Production on Health, Child marriage in Jammu and Kashmir, Beti Bachao Beti Padao 1995, Life time Achievement Award-2016 by Nav Dogri Sansthan, biggest India's Historical awards i.e. "Bharat Bhushan Award-2022-23", Icons of Asia-2022 by Global of empire events, Rashatriya Samaj Seva Rattan-2021by Global human rights foundation, and Influential Indians award-2021 in best man of Excellence creation (Cultural) by the Crazy Tales (National and Sadbhavana awareness award from the Song and Drama Division, Government of India , Global Health care Award -2023 and Global Educational excellence award 2023 by NURCLM, 27 may 2023 New Delhi & Rashtriya Pratibha Samman 2024 by the Chief Guest Ms. Sudha Chandran, Famous Bollywood actress at Teen Murti Bhawan New Delhi , India.
