Dr Andrabi leads Waqf Board in taking control of Sufi shrine at Ganderbal | | | Early Times Report GANDERBAL, July 1: In a significant development, the Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board, under the leadership of Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, has assumed administrative and management control of the Sufi shrine of Syed Jaffar (RA) at Rayil Gund, Ganderbal. This transfer of control follows the completion of all legal formalities, a move that fulfills a long-standing public demand. Dr. Andrabi, Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board (MoS), visited the shrine and paid her respects. She participated in a public reception as the Chief Guest and addressed a gathering of locals. During her speech, Dr. Andrabi announced plans to upgrade the facilities at the shrine, ensuring better services for the devotees. "Our developmental plans take shape at the ground zero, and the execution of works is done within the set time target. We ensure that the works are carried out transparently and according to the needs at the site," stated Dr. Andrabi. She emphasized the importance of spiritual centers and highlighted the revival of Sufi shrines in Jammu & Kashmir over the past two years. "Our spiritual saints are the everlasting torchbearers of our legacy, and we need to follow their teachings for enriching our lives with spiritual upliftment," Dr. Andrabi remarked. Dr. Andrabi was accompanied by Executive Magistrate of Waqf Board Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin and Executive Engineer Tariq Kaloo during her visit.
