Jammu, July 5: In a remarkable achievement Chayya Raina a deaf woman from Jammu and Kashmir was awarded the first prize at the prestigious 6th Murshidabad National deaf short film festival. This event held on June 30, 2024 at Rabindra Sadan Berhampore, West Bengal, was a significant occasion for the deaf community across india. The festival was organized by India Deaf film production , Kolkata and was sponsored by prominent organizations such as DVC Eastern Coalfield limited India Power, NTPC and NHPC. The event saw the participation of over 100 deaf individuals from various parts of the country all showcasing their talents in short films. Chayya Raina victory in the Deaf Fashion award category is a testament to her talent and determination.
