Agencies SOLAN, July 6: The 6th Convocation Ceremony of Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) took place on July 6, 2024, starting at 10:30 AM in the university auditorium. The event was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including the Honorable Governor and Chancellor of JUIT, Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla Ji, Pro Chancellor JUIT, Shri Manoj Gaur Ji, Pro Chancellor JIIT, Professor (Dr.) S.C. Saxena, Vice Chancellor JUIT, Professor (Dr.) R.K. Sharma, Registrar and Dean of Students, JUIT, Maj Gen (Retd) Rakesh Bassi, members of the Governing Council and Academic Council, guests, parents, faculty members, and alumni of JUIT. The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp and recitation of the Sarasvati Vandana, invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati. Following this, the Honorable Chancellor declared the convocation open. Professor R.K. Sharma delivered a warm welcome address, expressing his gratitude to all stakeholders, including parents and students, for their unwavering support in making JUIT a world-class university. He presented the annual report of JUIT, highlighting key achievements such as the NAAC accreditation with an A+ Grade on April 26, 2024, JUIT's notable rankings in QS Asia University Rankings 2024 and Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024, excellent placement records, patents, publications, and other academic and research accomplishments. He concluded his address with motivational words for the alumni and thanked everyone for their gracious presence. The Pro Chancellor of JUIT, Manoj Gaur, addressed the gathering next, quoting Nelson Mandela: "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." He encouraged students to measure success by the impact they make on others' lives and the legacy they leave, urging them to cultivate a thirst for knowledge, nurture compassion, and embrace future challenges with resolve. He also advised students to read the Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta and absorb its life lessons, concluding with congratulations to the graduates. Honorable Governor and Chancellor of JUIT, Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla Ji, delivered the convocation speech, beginning with a quote by Arnold H. Glasow: "Success is not the result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire." He emphasized that convocation is a rite of passage, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. He urged graduates to lead in this transformative era, equipped with skills and knowledge for significant contributions to the country's development.
