Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, July 11: A three-day intensive training course on "Investigation of Murder and Homicide Cases" has been inaugurated at the Academy in Udhampur. The program is aimed at enhancing the investigative skills of ten officers from various wings and units of the Jammu and Kashmir Police. This specialized training covers essential aspects of crime investigation, including crime scene examination, forensic evidence collection, FIR drafting, and the medico-legal complexities of deaths resulting from burning, poisoning, and violent asphyxia. Advanced topics such as brain-mapping, macro-analysis, DNA evidence handling, fingerprint analysis, and legal procedures related to homicide cases are also part of the curriculum. The course is being facilitated by distinguished guest faculty from the Academy and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) J&K, who are bringing their extensive knowledge and experience to ensure comprehensive training for the participants. Shri Rajinder Kumar Gupta, IPS, SSP, and Dy. Director (Indoor) was the chief guest at the inauguration. He extended a warm welcome to all participants on behalf of the Director of SKPA. In his address, Shri Gupta provided an insightful introduction to the investigation of murder and homicide cases, underscoring the importance of thorough and meticulous investigative practices. The course is being coordinated by Inspector Anil Raina, with support from SI Dhian Singh, a faculty member of SKPA. |
