Early Times Report LEH, July 12: The District Social Welfare Office, Leh, in collaboration with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), successfully organized a distribution camp for assistive devices, benefiting senior citizens and individuals with disabilities. This initiative follows the assessment camp held earlier. The event took place at Nari-Niketan Hostel, Leh, where assistive devices such as wheelchairs, hearing aids, crutches, silicon foam cushions, knee braces, LS belts, prosthetic limbs, and other essential aids were distributed. The distribution camp received an overwhelming response from the community, with a large number of beneficiaries receiving the devices they need to improve their quality of life. The event commenced with Nilza Angmo, District Social Welfare Officer, Leh, graciously distributing the assistive devices to the beneficiaries. Distinguished guests from ALIMCO, including Dr. Tushar Siwach, Dr. Puneet Dubey, and Sourav Kamal, Technician, also participated in the event. Beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt thanks, sharing how these assistive devices would significantly impact their daily lives, enabling them to lead more independent and fulfilling lives. |
