Reasi police tightens noose on bovine smugglers | | | Early Times Report REASI, July 18: In a swift and effective operation, Police Post Bhambla successfully foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling in the Bhambla area. Acting on a tip-off from a reliable source, police received information that some individuals are transporting bovine animals in a Tata Mobile bearing Registration No. JK02BK 0804 from Chowki Choura towards Kashmir for illegal sale. Upon receiving this information, a police team was immediately swung into action and apprehended the bovine smuggler, identified as Mohd Akram, S/O Mohd Sadiq, R/O Siot, Tehsil Sunderbani, District Rajouri. The suspect was found In possession of four bovine animals, which he was transporting without any valid permission from the concerned authorities. The police have taken the animals into custody and are conducting further investigations to ascertain the full extent of the smuggling operation. A case FIR No. 38/2024 U/S 223 BNS 11 (1) PCA Act has been registered at P/S Pouni, and an investigation has been initiated to unearth the forward and backward linkages of the smuggling operation. The whole operation is led by ICPP Bhambla and SHO Pouni under supervision of DySP HQs Reasi. Mohita Sharma, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi, shared the details and conveyed that Reasi Police is working on a multipronged strategy to deal with bovine smugglers and will leave no stone unturned to curb this menace from society. |
