Traffic Violators to be dealt with iron hand : ARTO

KATHUA, July 20: Motor Vehicles Department Kathua was launched an enforcement Drive and challaned forty Nine vehicles and imposed fine of rupees Two Lakh fifty seven thousand ( Rs 2.57) Lakh from the violators on the spot here today.
Under the direction of RTO Kathua JKAS Kewal Krishan , A team constituted by ARTO Kathua Shami Kumar launched an enforcement drive in different routes of Kathua and National Highway. During the course of checking , the team checked 220 vehicles were checked out of which 49 vehicles were found to be violating the traffic norms and Challaned for different traffic violations on the spot by the team.The fine amount from e-challan is Rs. 2,57,400 While conducting checking, the drivers of vehicles were also made aware about various road safety measures to be taken for safe driving on road. The owners and drivers were advised to ply vehicles on road with valid documents and avoid overspeed and use of mobile phone while driving which often become cause of accidents on road.
RTO Kathua also appealed to the people for bearing Crash Helmets and Seat Belts while driving two and four wheelers on the road. He also directed owners and drivers of e-rickshaws to resist to ply their vehicles on national highway otherwise strict action will be taken against the violators. He further requested drivers of commercial vehicles to ply vehicles on road after obeying traffic rules in order to reduce road accidents and save precious human lives.
During the Drive, MVI Jatinder Chib , SMVI Neeraj Kumar, SMVI. Rajan Kumar along with other staff members were also present during the drive.
