Agencies NEW DELHI, July 20: Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister Youth Affairs and Sports and Labour Welfare, Government of India, on Friday oversaw the ongoing assessment camp at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium aimed at identifying sports talents among students of Municipal Corporation of Delhi schools under the KIRTI (Khelo India Rising Talent Identification) program initiated by the Government of India. Mandaviya addressed the participants, emphasising the importance of nurturing young sports talents as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose message emphasises the integration of sports alongside academic pursuits. He highlighted the programmes goal of identifying 20,000 students within MCD schools to uncover and support promising sports talents across the country. Also present at the occasion were North East Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari, West Delhi MP Kamaljit Sehrawat, MCD Commissioner Ashwani Kumar, Director General of Sports Authority of India Sandeep Pradhan, former hockey player Ashok Dhyanchand (son of Major Dhyanchand), and Asian Games gold medalist shooter Jitu Rai. |
