Early Times Report JAMMU, July 26: Indian Red Cross Society, J&K under the leadership of Hon'ble Lt. Governor, Sh. Manoj Sinha (Hon'ble President, IRCS, J&K-UT) and supervision of Sh. Rohit Khajuria, General Secretary, IRCS, J&K is undertaking a significant humanitarian mission to help the society in different areas of J&K. Today, on 26th July, 2024 IRCS, J&K has conducted series of activities: Indian Red Cross Society Distributes Sanitary Napkins in Govt. Higher Secondary School, Bhour Camp, Jammu:- The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), J&K has undertaken a significant initiative to promote menstrual hygiene and health among young girls by distributing Sanitary Napkins in various girl's schools. Likewise, on 26th June, 2024, IRCS, J&K has distributed sanitary napkins at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Bhour Camp, Jammu ensuring that students have access to essential menstrual hygiene products. This initiative is part of the IRCS's ongoing efforts to enhance health and hygiene standards in remote and underserved regions. Besides the distribution of Women hygiene material, the team Red Cross Dr. Manpreet Kour, Medical Officer and Ms. Vironica Marwah, Field Officer, J&K also organized educational sessions to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene management. These sessions covered topics such as the importance of using sanitary napkins, proper disposal methods, and breaking the stigma associated with menstruation. Kiran, Principal, Govt. Higher Secondary School, Bhour camp stated that "The distribution of sanitary napkins by the IRCS, J&K has been immensely beneficial for our students. The educational sessions have helped in dispelling myths and fears surrounding menstruation, making our girls more confident and informed." Eight Days First-Aid Training Programme held at Red Cross Bhawan, Kachi Chawni, Jammu:- Indian Red Cross Society, J&K UT organized an eight days First-Aid training programme for the Commercial Vehicle drivers and for the youth of the society which concluded today i.e. on 26th July, 2024. During the 8 days training, different topics were covered like various techniques of Disaster Management during Earthquakes, Fires, Floods, First-Aid Kit, wounds, bandages, types of fractures, bleeding emergencies, burns etc. Emergency technique of handling bleeding patient, Fracture/accident victims was also emphasized. Highlights of the programme were how to resuscitate a patient of fainting and Cardiac Arrest.
