MVD holds road safety awareness programme | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, July 26: Motor Vehicle Department Kathua organized a road safety awareness Programme at Delhi Public School Rajbagh area of District Kathua and spread awareness among the school children regarding the road safety. According to the report, under the direction of RTO Kathua JKAS Kewal Krishan, the motor Vehicle Department conducted road safety awareness programme, the aim of the programme was to educate students about the importance of road safety and to create awareness among them regarding the various road safety rules and regulations. A large number of students along with teaching staff and school bus drivers were also participated in this Programme.
On the occasion ARTO Kathua Shammi Kumar emphasized the need for road safety. He also gave detailed instructions about traffic signals, signs and told about various online services regarding applying for driving licence, RC and other documents. He also stressed upon the students to follow the traffic rules and wear the best quality helmet and also wear seat belts while driving. He addressed various aspects of safe driving and highlighted the possible consequences of negligent or deliberate violation of traffic rules.
Besides, the team also conducts road safety audit, inspection of all school buses owned by the educational institutions for ferrying school children of Delhi Public School. The drive was conducted in compliance to the directions.
The team comprising of ARTO Kathua Shammi Kumar along with MVI Jatinder Chib and SMVI Neeraj Kumar conducted safety audit of more than 50 vehicles inside the premises of Delhi Public school Rajbagh . During the audit thorough inspections of each bus was conducted under the provision of Motor Vehicles Act 1988 and Rules framed thereunder and also the guidelines issued by the Supreme Court of India.
