Early Times Report JAMMU, July 29: An all-part darna protest will be held in Jammu on August 3 to demand restoration of democratic rights and full statehood. The final decision regarding the demonstration was taken in the all-party core committee meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Sheikh Abdul Rehman. On this occasion, committee conveners ID Khajuria and Manish Sahni along with co-conveners Narendra Gupta (Congress), Vijay Lochan (NC), Sohit Sharma (PDP), Ramesh Sarman (DOM), Rakesh Singh (NC), Nirmal Mahana (AAP), Narendra Singh (S Akali Dal), Comrade Sukhdev Singh (DBYC), Sunny Kant chib(HRC) Subhash Kumar (CPI-M), Narendra Khajuria were present. All the above leaders allege that the amendments recently implemented in the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, under which the jurisdiction of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir was increased, have almost hollowed out the right to vote of the people. With the demands to immediately roll back the above amendments, all party protest and dharna will be organised on August 3 at Maharaja Hari Singh statue site in a peaceful manner. All the leaders have appealed to the people to participate in the protest in large numbers to maintain the power of their voting rights. |
