Early Times Report

Kathua, July 29: Hari Prabhu Sanstha (HPS) celebrated its 20th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Foundation Day with great enthusiasm at the Indian Institute of Public Administration. The Sanstha, located in Gujroo Nagrota (Billawar) Kathua, marked this significant milestone with an event graced by distinguished guests and dignitaries.
Col. (Retd.) & Chairman DDC, Mahan Singh, was the Chief Guest, while Shri D.K. Vaid, Former Director of Education, presided over the function. Among the special guests of honor were S/Sh ID Soni, Chief Patron; Harinder Gupta, Chairman; Jagmohan Gupta, Patron; and Dr. Shreyansh Kumar Jain, State Yoga Commissioner, State Chairman of the Indian Yoga Association, and President of Vichar Kranti Manch International. The program commenced with a Vedic prayer and the lighting of the traditional lamp by the chief guest and other dignitaries on the dais. Shri Sansar Chand Gupta, President of HPS, delivered the welcome address following the introduction of the dignitaries by Shri Kuldeep Gupta, General Secretary of HPS. A highlight of the event was the conferral of the “Lifetime Achievement Award in Yoga” to Dr. Shreyansh Kumar Jain, recognizing his 50-year career in yoga. Dr. Jain, often referred to as the “Ramdev of Jammu,” has an illustrious career, having taught yoga for 15 years at Jammu University and 8 years at Central University Jammu. He has also imparted yoga training through various diploma courses and two batches of MA in Yoga at Central University. Dr. Jain emphasized the significance of yoga as a gift of ancient Indian tradition, symbolizing the unity of mind and body, thought and actions, and harmony between humans and nature. Yoga, he noted, is essential for disease prevention, health promotion, and managing lifestyle-related disorders. During the event, meritorious students, including Mr. Arjun Mahajan, who was selected for the Indian Administrative Services in both IPS and IAS, were awarded mementoes. The contributions of generous donors to HPS were also acknowledged. Shri Kuldeep Gupta, Financial Secretary, presented the Financial Report for 2023-24, which was approved by all attendees. Shri SC Gupta, President of HPS, outlined the aims, objectives, and activities of the past 20 years and proposed the budget for the upcoming financial year.
