NC vows to form next Govt in J&K: Sadhotra
People eagerly waiting for upcoming Rallies of Omar Abdullah in Nagri Parole (Kathua) & Bani on Aug 7-8, says Rattan Lal Gupta

BANI, Aug 1 : Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) held a significant workers meeting of District Kathua in Bani in view of upcoming Rallies of Omar Abdullah Vice President JKNC and former chief minister in Nagri Parole (Kathua) and Bani.
The meeting was attended by Party’s senior functionaries including Ajay Sadhotra, Additional General Secretary and former minister, Provincial President Rattan Lal Gupta, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed- Provincial Secretary, Ayub Malik- Provincial Secretary, Vijay Lochan Chairman JKNC SC Cell, Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zonal and Rakesh Sharma. The meeting was organized by Sandesh Shan, Central Zone Secretary JKNC.
At the beginning of the meeting, Sandesh Shan highlighted the pressing issues faced by the residents of far-flung areas in Kathua district, especially the challenges related to unemployment, ration, power, and water supply, roads which have worsened during the monsoon season. He expressed concerns over the government’s neglect of these remote areas and the lack of major earning sources for the people.
Addressing the meeting, former minister Ajay Sadhotra has strongly criticized the BJP for its inability to meet the needs of the people. He underscored the growing dissatisfaction and distress among the population due to these issues. He noted that this growing sense of disenchantment is palpable across communities, reflecting a broader discontent with the current administration’s handling of such issues.
The senior NC leader said that BJP’s decision to bifurcate Jammu and Kashmir State into two Union Territories, which, he argued, has resulted in severe unemployment and inadequate basic services.
He also highlighted the increasing public anxiety due to escalating terror activities across the Jammu region.
Sadhotra claimed that only the National Conference has the capability and commitment to address the current issues and bring meaningful change to the region, restoring stability and improving the living conditions of the people. He asked the people of Jammu and Kashmir to support the Party in the ensuing Assembly polls and assured that the National Conference will form the next government in Jammu and Kashmir with a commitment to restore stability and improve living conditions of people of J&K.
Provincial President, Rattan Lal Gupta, in his address, emphasized the significance of the Rallies initiated by the Party’s Vice President, Omar Abdullah, beginning from the Gurah Slathia in district Samba which he termed as the proud land of great warriors. He explained that such rallies are designed to bring about substantial changes in governance, with the aim of addressing the pressing needs of the people.
Rattan Lal Gupta noted that the people of Jammu region has high expectations from the National Conference, which is evident from the anticipation surrounding the upcoming rallies of Omar Abdullah in Nagri Parole (Kathua) and Bani on the 7th and 8th of this month. These events are seen as a potential turning point for the region.
The Provincial President asserted that the National Conference is fully prepared for the forthcoming Assembly elections, with a clear focus on addressing the genuine concerns of the electorate and driving development to ensure the region’s progress and prosperity.
Sheikh Bashir Ahmed and Ayub Malik Provincial Secretaries, JKNC, called on the people to strengthen the hands of the party’s President, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, and Vice President, Omar Abdullah. They highlighted that unified support for the leadership is crucial for advancing the party’s vision and addressing regional issues effectively. By rallying behind Abdullah and Abdullah, the believed the party can better serve the interests of the people and drive positive change in the region.
Vijay Lochan, Chairman of the SC Cell JKNC , Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zone and Rattan Chand Kalandria stated that the weaker sections of society have endured significant hardships under the current administration. They emphasized that despite the government’s promises and policies, the marginalized communities have faced
persistent challenges and inequalities. They criticized the lack of effective measures to alleviate their suffering and called for a change in leadership to address these issues more comprehensively and empathetically.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from the JKNC leaders to continue working tirelessly for the welfare of the people of Kathua and to bring about positive changes in the region.
Among those who were present include: Omi Chand Senior leader, Master Aslam, Amresh Sharma Secretaries Central Zone, Babu Din former BDC, Sanjay Kumar Vice President Bani, Ajit Kumar Sharma Vice President Duggan, Raja Rafiq Block President Basholi, Tirath Ram Block President Lohai Malhar, Jaswant Singh Block President Bani, Sanjay Kumar Thakur Vice President Bani, Mansa Mohd Secretary Block Duggan, Sadam Aftab Khan Block President YNC Bani and others.
