Senior Citizens Rejuvenation Centre organizes “Free Eye Check-up, Aadhar updation Camp” | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 11: As a part of Sewa Bhav (public service), a “free eye check up and Ration card” updation camp organized by the Senior citizens Rejuvenation Centre, Trikuta Nagar, in Jammu here today. The camp was inaugurated by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and District President Jammu South Rekha Mahajan in the presence of Baldev Raj Gupta President SCRC, Narinder Mahajan Patron, TR Taggee General Secretary and other members of the society. The camp aimed to provide free eye check-ups and treatment to residents, promoting eye health and wellness. The event was part of the organization’s community service initiatives, demonstrating their commitment to social welfare. The camp was organized by the Senior citizens Rejuvenation Centre. During the camp, experienced ophthalmologists and paramedical staff conducted comprehensive eye exams, and necessary medications and glasses were provided to those in need. The event was well-received by the community, with many residents benefiting from the free services. Rekha Mahajan felicitated Dr. Amandeep Gupta Eye Specialist from Zen Opitician and Nisha Sharma Food Inspector from CAPD for doing a meritorious job for the general public. She emphasized the importance of eye health and praised the organizers for their efforts in making quality healthcare accessible to all. While addressing the gathering of prominent persons of the area along with the members from various senior rejuvenation center members, “How busy you may be, but always make it a point to do one good act a day. It not only helps you to attain utmost satisfaction but also promote different social activities around you and result in the development of the country as a whole,” stated Rekha Mahajan while inaugurating the free eye camp at Trikuta Nagar of Bahu Constituency of District Jammu South. She further said that the Union health ministry has been doing a lot of work regarding “healthy and disease-free eyes,” and in this regard, the National Program for Control of Blindness, which was launched in the year 1976, is a 100% centrally sponsored program, the main focus of which is to develop eye care infrastructure throughout the country, increase institutional capacity for eye care, expand coverage to underserved areas, decentralize to district level, human resource development for eye care at all levels, improve the quality of eye care for better visual outcomes, and secure the participation of the non-government and private sectors. She maintained that everyone should come forward and participate in this free eye camp. |
