Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 12: WE CARE WELFARE SOCIETY (WCWS), held a camp at Panchayat Ghar, Ghaink village, Block Bhalwal, District Jammu for free distribution of fruit tree samplings.
WCWS has started a campaign " The Backyard Tree Plantation Drive " since few years, wherein we distribute fruit plant samplings to the under privileged BPL families during the planting season. In the family set up they take care of fruit plants well and later they derive the benefit of getting fruits for maintenance of their health and well being.
This time we distributed fruit plants to the women of UMEED SCHEME, of under-privileged families. This also made sure that benefit of these fruit plants reaches to most deserving people of the area. More than 300 high quality grafted fruit plants were distributed free of cost. Each women beneficiary was given three types of fruit plants i.e Mango (Amarpali), Mosambi (Sweet Lime) and Lime (Nimboo). They were also advised to dig a proper pit one metre x one metre size, for planting these fruit plants with mixture of well rotten manure & soil. This programme was attended by BDC Chairman, Bhalwal Block, Sarpanchs and Panchs of surrounding villages. They thanked and appreciated this program of WCWS for free distribution of plants. Dr R K Gupta, President, WCWS, expressed his gratitude and appreciation of Rakesh Gandotra, Chairman, SD Memorial Hr Sec School, our resourse person, who helped us in arranging this charitable venture. He especially thanked BDC Chairman Kuldip Raj Bhagat who made this programme possible in his Panchyat Garh, largely for the benefit of farming community of his Block. Shruti Uppal BDM, Incharge Umeed Scheme, also attended plant distribution programme and helped us in this noble venture. She also spoke to Umeed Beneficiaries about the importance this programme.
