Celebration of Independence Day 2024 at GDC Sidhra | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 16: India's Independence Day, observed annually on August 15th, marks the day in 1947 when the country gained freedom from British rule. It is a momentous occasion that serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters for the country's independence. To honour the sacrifices of those who fought for India's independence, this glorious day has been celebrated at GDC Sidhra with great fervor and enthusiasm. The programme commenced with welcome address by Mr. Deepak Kumar, PTI in which he apprised all the staff members and students of the college about the importance of our national festivals. Worthy Principal of the college, Dr. G.S. Rakwal accompanied by the staff and NSS volunteers hoisted the National Flag followed by the National Anthem. Sequel to this e-pledge on Nasha Mukt Bharat was also observed by teaching and non-teaching staff along with students. Dr. G.S. Rakwal, Principal GDC Sidhra addressed the gathering and extended his warm greetings on the occasion. He sensitized the students about the significance of this day and motivated them to work towards a brighter and more inclusive future. He also encouraged them to become better citizens and perform their duties honestly in the interest of the nation. The entire programme was organized under the able guidance of Dr. G.S. Rakwal, Principal of the college with the active support and coordination Dr. Purvaiya Hans, NSS Programme Officer and her team, Prof. Deepa Kak, Convenor Anti Drugs and Rehabilitation Cell with her team and other staff members of the college. |
