Inter District Provincial Football Competitions inaugurated at Khel Goan Nagrota

NAGROTA, Aug 21: The Inter District Provincial Level Football competition for U-14 and U-17 boys was inaugurated today at Khel Goan, Nagrota, by Sh. Ved Parkash (JKAS), Joint Director of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu & Kashmir. The event, hosted by District Jammu, saw enthusiastic participation from various districts, kicking off a four-day sporting extravaganza.
The competition is being organized under the patronage of Rajinder Singh Tara (JKAS), Director General of Youth Services and Sports, Jammu & Kashmir UT, with overall supervision provided by DYSSO Jammu, Sh. Sunil Kumar Sharma, along with Smt. Harvinder Kour (I/c DYSSO), Sh. Dinesh Sharma (I/c ZPEO Dansal), and Usha Foteder (I/c ZPEO Khour).
In the inaugural matches, the U-14 boys' teams from Jammu and Poonch faced off, with Jammu securing a narrow victory with a 1-0 scoreline. The second match saw Kishtwar dominate Samba with a decisive 3-0 victory.
Speaking at the inauguration, Ved Parkash encouraged all participants to hone their skills and prepare for future competitions. He emphasized the importance of sportsmanship and the role such events play in fostering talent at the grassroots level.
Simultaneously, the Inter School District Level Fencing competition for U-17 boys and girls was held at MA Stadium, Jammu, adding to the day's sporting events across the region.
The football competition will continue over the next four days at Khel Goan, Nagrota, with teams vying for top honors in their respective age categories.
