Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 23: In a significant development, the National Conference (NC) received a major boost today as prominent social worker and Christian leader, Smt. Spana Gill, along with over 80 social activists, joined the party during a programme held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan, Jammu organized by Mrs Bimla Luthra former MLA and State Vice President Women Wing JKNC. The event was presided over by Pinky Khalsa District President Jammu Urban Women wing, in the presence of several senior leaders, Rattan Lal Gupta Provincial President Jammu Province, Provincial Secretaries Sheikh Bashir Ahmad and Pardeep Bali, Vijay Lochan Chairman SC Cell, Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zone, Christian Cell President Waris Gill, Vikram Puri Chairman Trade and Industry,District Vice President Joginder Kour, and Jammu Urban YNC District President S. Tejinder Singh, Jatinder Singh Lucky, Ashanand Joint Secretary District Jammu Urban, Ajay Kumar Block Secretary Jammu East and others. Welcoming the new members into the NC fold, the Provincial President expressed his heartfelt appreciation for their decision to join hands with the National Conference. He highlighted that their association with the party is a testament to the growing trust and support NC enjoys across different sections of society, especially among women and marginalized communities. Addressing the gathering, Rattan Lal Gupta emphasized that the National Conference has always stood for inclusivity and empowerment, particularly for women and the youth. "Women play a vital role in shaping the future of our society, and their empowerment remains one of our top priorities. Our party is committed to ensuring equal opportunities, social justice, and economic independence for women across Jammu and Kashmir," he said. The senior NC leader outlined NC's vision for empowering the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, stating, "If the National Conference is voted to power, we will provide 1 lakh jobs to the youth of J&K and pass the J&K Youth Employment Generation Act within three months of forming the government." He further promised key initiatives, including the provision of 12 LPG cylinders free of cost annually for economically weaker sections (EWS), free travel for women in public transport, enhanced marriage assistance, and an increase in the medical allowance for pensioners from Rs 300 to Rs 1,000. Additionally, he assured that NC would strengthen the public distribution system to ensure better access to essential commodities like sugar and kerosene. Rattan Lal Gupta called upon the people of Jammu and Kashmir to Vote and support the National Conference in the upcoming Assembly elections, stating, "We are ready to serve the people with dedication and commitment for the next five years." |
