Director skill development department visited Govt Polytechnic

Jammu, Aug 24: Director, Skill Development Department, J&K, Sh. Om Parkash Bhagat (JKAS) today visited Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu and Center for Invention, Innovation, Incubation and Training (CIIIT) Jammu and took the first-hand appraisal of infrastructure and training facilities offered by the college.
On the occasion, a campus placement drive was inaugurated by the Director SDD, Sh. O.P. Bhagat (JKAS). The Placement drive was organized by Government Polytechnic Jammu in collaboration with Hitachi Astemo Break System Pvt. Ltd, Escorts Kabuto Ltd, and JKEKT Indian Ltd.
The resource person for the placement drive were Mr. Vipin Goyal AGM, HR, Ms. Nipun Executive HR and Mr. Ashvanee Kumar Production Manager. In total 129 candidates from various Government Polytechnics participated in the campus placement drive. While speaking on the occasion, Director SDD, Sh O.P Bhagat (JKAS) impressed upon the students to participate in the various placement drives with full enthusiasm and make full use of their professional & technical skills for employability to various organizations. He also appreciated the efforts of Er. Arun Bangotra and his Team for organizing such campus placement drive to provide employment opportunities to the passout students. Er. Ajay Thapa I/c T.P cell and his team coordinated for the successful conduct of the campus placement drive under the able guidance of Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal Govt. Polytechnic Jammu.
During the visit to CIIIT Jammu, Director Sh O.P Bhagat (JKAS) took the comprehensive review of the working of various competency centres and labs of CIIIT Jammu. Principal Er Arun Bangotra gave a detailed presentation about CIIIT Jammu, the center of excellence established at Government Polytechnic Jammu to impart advance training in future skills such as Mechatronics & IoT, Robotics, Electric Vehicle, CNC machines etc to the student as per industry 4.0. The CIIIT Jammu offers 18 courses through 09 competency centres. While interacting with staff Director SDD, emphasized upon them to use innovations and provide hands on training on all the hi-tech machinery installed at CIIIT Jammu. He urged the staff to make the students get practical knowledge to enhance their employability skills. On the occasion certificates were distributed to the student who have successfully completed the training at CIIIT Jammu.
On the occasion a plantation drive was also organized in the premises of the institution in which worthy Director SDD, Sh O.P Bhagat and Principal Er Arun Bangotra, Government Polytechnic Jammu along with the staff planted the saplings. Director SDD, impressed upon the need of plantation drives, particularly during this season and asked the students to carry out such plantations in their areas also.
Sh O.P Bhagat Director SDD also inspected the various departments of the Institution and interacted with the staff and was satisfied with the infrastructure and functioning of the institute. He congratulated Er Arun Bangotra, Principal and all staff for Outstanding Polytechnic Award for year 2023-24 from NITTTR Chandigarh. He said that the technical Education has a pivotal role to play in providing skill development training to the students to overcome the problem of unemployment in Jammu & Kashmir. He directed the staff to work with utmost efforts to ensure empowerment of youth by way of imparting requisite proficiency.

Saba Demonstrator Incharge Architecture Assistantship.
