BISHNAH, Sept 5: Government Degree College (GDC) Bishnah celebrated Teacher's Day with great zeal and enthusiasm under the leadership of Dr. Shallu Samyal, Principal of the college. This year's theme, "Empowering Educators, Strengthening Resilience, Building Sustainability," emphasized the crucial role of educators in shaping a sustainable future. The event began with a tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, India's second President and an esteemed academician, followed by a soulful bhajan performed by students from the Department of Music. The cultural program featured a variety of performances, including dances, songs, and a skit titled Refund, based on an English drama. In her address, Dr. Shallu Samyal highlighted the significance of Teacher's Day and blessed the students on this special occasion. Prof. Anju Bala also shared her thoughts on the evolving role of educators in the modern world. The entire event was organized and coordinated by Shivani Raina, Head of the Music Department, and Dr. Geeta Lakhotra, NSS Programme Officer. The event saw active participation from both teaching and non-teaching staff, making it a memorable celebration. |
