CUJ awarded 'A' Grade in SWAYAM NPTEL online certification courses

JAMMU, Sept 7: The Central University of Jammu SWAYAM-NPTEL Local Chapter has been awarded 'A' Grade in the recently declared results of the online certification courses offered by SWAYAM NPTEL. On the basis of this performance, the Local Chapter of NPTEL Central University of Jammu has got this distinction, wherein 4 students have ranked among top 1%, 8 students have been ranked among top 2% and 14 students among top 5% across the country. It is worth mentioning that the Department of Physics has been awarded 'Special Discipline award' for excelling in Physics online courses in Central University of Jammu. In addition to this achievement 11 students have been awarded Gold Medals, 90 students got Silver Medals and 198 students have achieved Elite Certifications in the recently declared results of the Session January- April 2024. The National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is a joint venture of the IITs and IISc, of the Ministry of Education (MoE) Government of India, and was launched in 2003. SWAYAM NPTEL has been offering self-study courses across engineering, humanities and science streams for more than a decade. SWAYAM NPTEL offers online certification for its courses by which the students get an opportunity to earn a certificate from the IITs or IISc Bangalore.
Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, congratulated all the students and faculty for achieving this milestone and achieving 'A' Rating as well as being listed among top 100 institutes across the country. He also appreciated Prof. J. N. Baliya, SPOC, SWAYAM NPTEL, CU Jammu for putting up his sincere efforts in this direction. Prof Jain further remarked that this is a major encouragement to all of our efforts to provide our students with the best resources to expand their knowledge beyond the classroom. Prof. Baliya was invited for a Felicitation Ceremony at IIT Kanpur for receiving this recognition.
Sharing this achievement, SWAYAM Coordinator Prof. J. N. Baliya informed that Central University of Jammu, SWAYAM NPTEL Local Chapter, which is active since 2017, has been facilitating the NPTEL technology courses offered through online platforms. He further added that SWAYAM NPTEL enables the students and faculty to gain valuable skills through the programs designed and delivered by the experienced IIT and IISc. faculty.
