Congress Shinde's remark on improvement in Valley's security vindicated BJP's stand: Kavinder
9/10/2024 9:52:20 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 10: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta applauded the veteran Congress leader Sushil Kumar Shinde for his candid admission that he used to get scared while visiting Dal lake and Lal Chowk areas in Srinagar way back during his tenure as the Home Minister of India.
In a statement issued to media persons, the BJP's stalwart leader said that the honest remark by the veteran Congress leader has vindicated the BJP's stand on Congress' failure in Kashmir.
He welcomed the straightforward acknowledgment from a Congress leader that has endorsed the BJP's long-held position that the Congress failed to handle the situation in Kashmir effectively. He said that Shinde's statement highlighted the fear and insecurity that prevailed in Kashmir under Congress rule, reflecting the oldest party's weak policies and failure to restore normalcy in the region.
"It is a righteous act for veteran Congress leader Shinde to endorse the truth, and the country should appreciate this admission. This confession serves as a testimony to the lack of resolve the Congress demonstrated in addressing the serious challenges of terrorism and separatism in Kashmir", he said, adding that the present Congress leadership should take this statement as a parameter to gauge the situation in Kashmir as people are enjoying night life, watching cinema and celebrating national days like the way the people do it in other parts of the country.
"During Congress' regime, this was next to impossible in the Valley", he said adding that it is difficult for the Congress to digest such truthful statements but what is true to the hilt has to come out, and the statement by Shinde is the testimony for the same.
Kavinder emphasized that the improvement in the security situation in Kashmir under the Modi government is undeniable proof of the Centre's decisive and resolute policies. He stated that the Modi-led government has not only restored peace in the Valley but has also fostered an environment where people now feel safe, secure, and empowered.
He highlighted the remarkable transformation in Kashmir, where terrorism has been curbed, tourism has flourished, and the youth are hopeful for a brighter future. He lauded the Modi government for achieving what previous governments could not, calling it a testament to strong leadership, vision, and commitment to national security and development.
