RAJOURI, Sept 11: In preparation for the forthcoming General Election for Legislative Assembly in J& K, District Election Officer (DEO) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajouri, Randeep Kumar, conducted a joint inspection of several polling stations in Tehsil Darhal. The visit was focused on assessing the readiness of the polling stations and reviewing the security arrangements ahead of the elections. During the inspection, the DEO and SSP visited polling stations at GMS Topa and GMS Budh Khanri, where they evaluated the availability of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) required to ensure a smooth voting process. These facilities included ramps for differently-abled voters, access to drinking water, electricity, sanitation, and proper lighting arrangements. The DEO directed the concerned officers to ensure all AMFs are in place, emphasizing their importance for an inclusive and voter-friendly environment. Special attention was given to the security arrangements at these polling stations, with the DEO and SSP highlighting the critical need for a secure and peaceful atmosphere on Election Day. Both officials discussed plans to strengthen security in and around the polling stations to prevent any disruptions. The DEO reiterated the district administration’s commitment to conducting free, fair, and transparent elections, ensuring that every voter can cast their ballot without any inconvenience or security concerns.
