BJP’s Proxy Govt neglected remote areas of Udhampur: Rattan Lal Gupta
9/15/2024 10:09:38 PM
Early Times Report

MAJALTA (Udhampur), Sept 15: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), launched a scathing attack on the incumbent government, accusing it of completely neglecting the rural areas of district Udhampur particularly Majalta Block, depriving the people of even basic amenities.
He expressed these views while addressing a series of meetings in support of NC Congress Alliance Candidate for Udhampur East Assembly Constituency Sunil Verma.
The senior NC leader said that it is deeply ironic that the BJP’s Double Engine government continues to make tall claims of equitable development across the nation, while the reality on the ground tells a different story. “The truth is, during the present regime, rural areas have remained largely ignored, with no visible progress. The appalling conditions in rural Udhampur stand as a testament to the government’s failure to bring development to these neglected areas,” he remarked.
Highlighting the dire state of public infrastructure, Rattan Lal Gupta criticized the administration for failing to initiate even the most basic development projects. He pointed out the absence of essential facilities such as a Trauma Center between Udhampur and Dhar, leaving the people vulnerable in medical emergencies. He further said, “People have been left to fend for themselves, with a severe lack of healthcare and medical facilities.”
“People are subjected to face Severe Power shortages under the present dispensation while the youth are grappling with unemployment, leading to widespread frustration and chaotic conditions,” he added.
The senior NC leader questioned the BJP’s failure to address unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir, asking why the party has not fulfilled its promises of Sankalp Patra during its ten years of rule. He asserted that only the National Conference can address the pressing issues of the people in remote areas like Udhampur. He highlighted the Party’s commitment to deliver on its poll manifesto, which includes free Govt Ration from 5 to 10 kg per member of a family per month, Rs 5,000 per month to elderly women from EWS, one lakh jobs for J&K’s youth, 12 LPG cylinders per family per year, and free drinking water and free 200 power units for every household. Additionally, we will provide free education to youth up to the graduation level and many more,” he assured.
Addressing the meeting, Sunil Verma emphasized that despite the hardships faced by the people, the government has turned a blind eye to their struggles. Even the Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his rally in Doda boasts of fake achievements but the fact is that the people of remote areas are still struggling for basic amenities.” Vijay Lochan, Pardeep Bali, and Rakesh Singh Raka urged the people not to fall prey to the BJP’s false promises. They urged the people of Udhampur East to support Sunil Verma in the upcoming Assembly elections for the equitable development of the region.
Om Parkash Sharma, District Coordinator of the Congress Party, called upon the Congress Party cadre to work in close coordination and fight this Assembly polls collectively under the banner of INDIA Alliance in order to uphold the values of secularism, democracy, and inclusivity, which are the cornerstone principles of the Party. He directed the party cadre to vote and support Alliance candidate Sunil Verma and ensure his resourcing victory in the upcoming polls. Large number of persons from different political parties including BJP and Panthers Party have joined National Conference.
Among those how were present included Akash Verma District President YNC, Rattan Singh Block President, Nand Lal Verma, Mohan Lal Verma Block President, Angrez Singh, Charan Dass, Amarnath ji, Abey Sandhu and others
