67th Worker Education Day celebration held by GoI, MoLE, DTNBWED Jammu

JAMMU, Sept 18: Government of India, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Dattopant Thengadi National Board for Workers Education and Development, Regional Directorate, Jammu has successfully organized its 67th foundation day as Worker Education Day at the Auditorium of Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Jammu on 18.09.2024.
The chief guest of the programme was Mohd. Rizwan Uddin, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, Ministry of Labour & Employment, GOI, Jammu and the said meeting was presided over by Sh. Chanan Singh Toor, Chairman, RAC, DTNBWED, Jammu & General Secretary, Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, UT of J&K and attended by about 40 senior officials from various PSUs, Industries, Trade Unions, NGOs, University & other Social organizations of Jammu.
On this occasion a Panel discussion on the subject "Role of Worker Education & how it can contribute in the Socio-Economic progress of the UT States of J, K & L and Role & Importance of Hindi Language in it" was also held and following speakers have participated in the discussion namely: - 1) Sh. Anil Gupta, Sr. Vice President, Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Jammu , 2) Sh. Dushyant Pandey, Dy. Director, ESIC, Ministry of Labour & Employment, GOI, Jammu 3) Dr. (Prof.) Prakash Chand, Dean, Student Welfare, Jammu University & 4) Dr. (Prof.) Rajni, Hindi Dept. HOD, Jammu University, Jammu.
In his address as the Chief Guest, Mohd. Rizwan Uddin, RPFC, Jammu has congratulated DTNBWED, Jammu on its 67th Foundation Day and appreciated its efforts in uplifting the quality of worker's life through their educational & training activities throughout the UT States of J, K & L. He also ensured that EPFO, Jammu will extend all kinds of help & Cooperation to DTNBWED, Jammu for proper implementation of GoI's Workers Education Scheme in J, K & L.
In his presidential address Sh. Chanan Singh Toor, RAC Chairman, DTNBWED, Jammu too congratulated all the officers and Staff members of DTNBWED on its 67th Foundation day and said that Board was renamed in 2016 to honour Late Sh. Dattopant Thengadi ji, who was an eminent Trade Union leader of India & a great visionary from whom Board takes inspiration & accordingly works for the welfare & development of workers across the country.
He also informed the gathering that Board has trained millions of workers since its inception on 16th September, 1958 & it will continue to play an important role by making workers aware about their rights under different labours laws and welfare schemes from Central & State Governments agencies in all the districts of UT States of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh.
Prior to the above a healthy discussion was also held among all the Dignitaries, Special Guests & Invitees from various PSUs, Industries, NGOs, Trade Unions, Social Organizations & Rural volunteers about better implementation of Workers Education Scheme in UTs of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh. Their Suggestions were noted by DTNBWED, Jammu for further necessary action. Further, during the said panel discussion:
In his address Sh. Anil Gupta, Sr. Vice President CCI, Jammu has assured DTNBWED and other Government Departments at Jammu that CCI, Jammu will fully support & Co-operate with all the mutually beneficial Government policies in J & K and thanked DTNBWED, Jammu for giving this opportunity to organise 67th workers Education Day Function at CCI, Jammu in their premises.
Dushyant Pandey, Dy. Director, ESIC, Jammu has said that ESIC will help DTNBWED, Jammu to develop their reach among their members Institutions and praised the uniqueness of workers education scheme for the socio-economic progress of J & K's workers and its Economy.
Dr (Prof) Prakash Chand, Dean, Student Welfare, Jammu University was also glad to assure on the occasion of 67th Workers Education Day that in coming months Jammu University will utilize the services of DTNBWED, Jammu for benefits of its Employees and Students by way of signing few MOUs with DTNBWED & few likeminded Departments of Jammu University & pool their Resources for mutual benefits.
Dr (Prof) Rajni, Hindi Department HOD, Jammu University, who was specially invited on the occasion of Hindi Pakhwada (16-30 September'2024), spoke about the benefits of enhancing the use of Raj Bhasha Hindi in UTs of J, K & L. She also spoke about the Importance of Hindi as work Language in various Government Departments, Industries & its role in the economic up-liftment of workers/State's Economy.
Further, in the beginning of the day & as anchor of the programme, Dr. Pankaj Rastogi, Regional Director I/c, DTNBWED, Jammu has welcomed the Chief Guest, Special Guests & RAC Chairman along with all the other invitees on the occasion of 67th WE Day & afterwards the programme was begun by lighting the lamps before Mata Saraswati by all the dignitaries and the Guests on the Dias & then a Tea break was observed.
Later in the day the programme ended with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Pankaj Rastogi, Regional Director I/c, DTNBWED, Jammu in which he thanked all the Dignitaries, Guests and Media Representative of Jammu for making this event a grand success.
