DDC Member Renuka Katoch demands immediate action against alleged viral audio culprits, Threatens Protest | | | Early Times Report
Ramban, Sept 20: In a press conference held today, District Development Council (DDC) Member Renuka Katoch issued a strong ultimatum to authorities, demanding swift action against those involved in circulating an alleged viral audio clip containing derogatory remarks about her character. Without naming any individuals or political parties, Katoch condemned the slanderous comments, stating that they not only attacked her but also disrespected the dignity of all women. Katoch stressed that this matter is a social issue, not a political one, emphasizing that such attempts to malign her and deter women from participating in mainstream politics would not be tolerated. "This is an attack on the character of the entire female population, aimed at keeping women away from public life and leadership. We will not allow these efforts to succeed," she firmly stated. She further referred to a previous incident involving her husband, who was physically assaulted with a sharp-edged weapon, leaving him injured. Despite the seriousness of the attack, Katoch expressed disappointment over the lack of legal action against the assailant, identified as Paramveer from Digdole Ramban. Katoch criticized the police for their inaction and issued a stern warning: if no action is taken within three days, she and her supporters will begin protests against both the culprits and the authorities. She also expressed concerns about potential physical and social attacks on herself and her family, urging the authorities to act swiftly to ensure their safety. In conclusion, Katoch reaffirmed her commitment to standing against such attacks, stating that she would not be silenced or discouraged from her role in society and politics. |
