BJP encouraging independents, smaller parties to create political uncertainty in J&K: Cong

Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 22: Seeking a decisive and full-fledged mandate for the coalition to provide a stable government in Jammu and Kashmir, Rajya Sabha member and Congress Working Committee Member Nasir Hussain on Sunday cautioned the people against the deceitful tactics of BJP.
Interacting with media persons after addressing a series of public meetings in different parts of Jammu in support of the party candidates, the Rajya Sabha member said that the BJP is neither in a position nor in the race to form government in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that the BJP leaders have realized that residents of J&K are going to teach them a lesson for their misdeeds during the last 10 years so the BJP has shamelessly indulged in nefarious designs and dangerous ploys to ensure a fractured mandate after the elections.
“BJP is encouraging Independents and smaller parties to create chaos and uncertainty after the elections. Such chaotic situations always suit the ruling party to form its own government through its fraudulent tactics”, he said and urged the people to give a decisive mandate to the coalition to establish a stable government in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Only a stable government can ensure development and prosperity in J&K. We have to read and see through the tactics of the BJP”, he said.
“It's only because of the Supreme Court's intervention that elections are being held in J&K”, he said. Now, they're trying to manipulate the outcome by backing independents and smaller parties, aiming for a fractured mandate and an unstable government."
"This deceitful tactic will allow them to exploit the Governor's office for their own gain. We must see through their ploy” he said.
“The people of Jammu and Kashmir are finally getting a chance to exercise their democratic right after years of waiting”, the CWC member said.
“The BJP, which has been ruling the state through its proxy, the Lieutenant Governor's office, owes us answers. They're making tall promises now, but what about their track record?” he asked.
“Ten years ago, J&K was a leader in healthcare, education, and infrastructure development. Where's the report card for the past decade? How many people have they lifted out of poverty?" the Congress leader further questioned.
“The BJP's biggest achievement has been spreading the menace of drugs. Is there a link between the drugs recovered at Gujarat port and the rising addiction in J&K?” the Rajya Sabha member asked.
Quoting the report of the Parliament panel, he said, “The Standing Committee of Parliament reports that 13.5 lakh youth in J&K are trapped in drug menace” He asked the BJP to clear its roadmap to tackle this crisis.
“The BJP is indulging in empty rhetoric, or 'Jumlabazi.' They're attacking opposition leaders and their families instead of facing the facts”, he said.
“The BJP has failed to create jobs, despite promising 2 crore positions annually in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Outsiders are getting lucrative contracts, while locals are left behind”, he mentioned.
Pointing toward some scams recently exposed in J&K, Mr Nasir Hussain said that the the Governor's House has become a hub of corruption, with scandals like the Jal Jivan Mission Scam, Recruitment Scam, mining scam, sand scam, and liquor scam.
“Congress will investigate these scandals and ensure locals receive contracts”, he said.
“J&K's education sector is on the brink of collapse, with enrollment plummeting. Unscheduled power cuts plague our citizens”, he said assured that Congress guarantees a better future, starting with a comprehensive social, economic, and caste census to ensure justice and equality for all.
AICC Coordinators Ms Dolly Sharma & Onika Mehrotra; JKPCC Senior Vice President & Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma; Vice President PCC Ved Mahajan, AICC Social Media Pranab Ji; Kapil Singh, Neeraj Gupta were present in the press interaction.
