Jammu, Sept 24: As the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) intensifies its election campaign, Babu Rampaul, President of JKNC Central Zone and Former Minister, laid out a comprehensive vision for improving healthcare infrastructure during an election meeting at Jammu North constituency. The meeting was organized by Dr. Vikas Sharma, Zonal Secretary and Coordinator Jammu District.
Speaking in support of party candidate Former Minister and Additional General Secretary JKNC Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, Rampaul highlighted key elements from the party’s manifesto aimed at transforming healthcare across the union territory.
He asked the people of Jammu North constituency to wholeheartedly support the NC candidate so as to strengthen the hands of party leadership to form government in J&K and realize their dreams. He elaborated that among the primary promises is the restoration of autonomy to the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, ensuring better management and operations. Additionally, the party intends to formulate a comprehensive State Health Policy to address long-standing healthcare challenges. A major highlight of the health agenda is the creation of a Medical Trust, which will offer free insurance coverage of ₹5 lakh per annum for terminal diseases such as cancer and heart and kidney transplants. The JKNC also plans to establish a state-of-the-art cancer hospital in the region.
Also speaking, Dr Vikas Sharma, Secretary Central Zone JKNC, said that to improve access to primary healthcare, the manifesto promises the establishment of Village & Mohalla Clinics, aimed at providing essential healthcare and emergency services. Furthermore, dialysis facilities will be made available at all Sub-District Hospitals (SDH) across Jammu and Kashmir, he informed. Further elaborating the manifesto, he said, “The party also pledged to enhance diagnostic and imaging services in all district hospitals, ensuring people have access to necessary medical investigations locally.” With these ambitious proposals, JKNC aims to prioritize the health and well-being of the people in the upcoming elections, positioning itself as a party committed to addressing the healthcare needs of the region.
