Hiranagar, Sept 24: Government GLDM Degree College, Hiranagar, today celebrated the NSS Foundation Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event highlighted the college’s ongoing commitment to social service and community development through the National Service Scheme (NSS). Dr. Pragya Khanna, the esteemed Chief Guest graced the occasion with her presence. In her address, Dr. Khanna emphasized the importance of the NSS in shaping responsible citizens by instilling a sense of social responsibility, teamwork, and leadership. She also spoke on the pivotal role the youth can play in community service, urging students to actively participate in NSS activities to contribute to nation-building. The event was further enriched by the presence of Prof. Shapia Shameem, NSS Program Officer, and Prof. Rakesh Sharma, Advisor. Prof. Shapia Shameem, in her address, detailed the numerous initiatives undertaken by the NSS unit of the college, including health camps, environmental drives, and educational outreach programs. She commended the students for their dedicated efforts and highlighted the positive impact these activities have had on the local community. Prof. Rakesh Sharma, while advising the students, reinforced the importance of selfless service and emphasized how such programs not only benefit society but also build character and leadership skills among students. The celebration included cultural performances, speeches by NSS volunteers, and the recognition of outstanding contributors to the NSS unit. The event concluded with medal distribution to the students and pledge by the students to continue serving society through various initiatives under the NSS banner. The entire college community, including faculty members and students, came together to make the event a grand success, reaffirming their dedication to the core values of the National Service Scheme. The entire program was compared by shubam Sharma and Dakshita Sharma, dedicated NSS volunteers.Among other students who actively managed throughout are Aman,Chetan, Krishna, Rajan, Vikas, Waseem, Saloni, Arti, Manju, Usha, Babita, Anu, Deepika, Priya, Priti, Mehak, Ishika, Reeti and Sakshi. The program ended with a formal vote of thanks by Prof.Neeru Sharma, Member NSS. |
