Early Times Report RAJOURI, Sept 26: In honor of Gandhi Jayanti 2024, Govt. P.G. College Rajouri hosted a vibrant art competition themed "Truth and Non-Violence" today. Held in the College Conference Hall, the event celebrated Mahatma Gandhi's core principles and drew participation from over 50 young artists from the college. Students were encouraged to creatively express their interpretation of Gandhian values in today's world through various mediums, including painting, sketching, and slogan writing. The competition saw a wide range of artistic styles, with each entry reflecting on how the ideals of truth and non-violence remain relevant in contemporary society. Prof. (Dr.) K.K. Sharma, Principal of the college, praised the participants for their creativity, stressing the continued importance of Gandhi's message in fostering peace and understanding. "Mahatma Gandhi's vision of a peaceful society based on truth and non-violence is as relevant now as it was during his lifetime," he remarked. The event was supported by faculty members, including Prof. D.N. Sharma, Prof. Rabia Koser, and Ms. Neha Bardwaj from the non-teaching staff. A distinguished panel of judges, including Prof. Iqbal Raina, Convener of the Literary Committee, and Prof. Khalid Riaz, Member of the Literary Committee, evaluated the artworks based on creativity, relevance to the theme, and overall impact. The top three winners were Vishali Sharma (1st), Nitish Sayal (2nd), and Aditya Singh (3rd), whose artworks will be displayed as part of the college's ongoing Gandhi Jayanti celebrations. The competition provided a platform for students to reflect on the enduring relevance of Gandhian values and showcase their artistic talents. |
