JAMMU, Sept 26: NSS unit in collaboration with ICDS Project Purmandal (Panchayat Bajalta) and Department of Ayush today organised a mega event in relation to observance of "Suposhit Kishori Sashakt Nari" Poshan Maah. Under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 (Mission Poshan 2.0), Behavioural Changes, at individual and community level, is an important component to achieve the desired goal of Suposhit Bharat. In pursuance of this objective, Rashtriya Poshan Maah is celebrated during the month of September every year. Since the launch of Poshan Abhiyan in 2018 by the Hon'ble Prime Minister, six Poshan Maahs have been successfully celebrated across the country. Poshan Abhiyaaan, an overarching scheme for holistic nourishment is Government of India's flagship scheme to improve nutritional outcomes for children and adsolescent girls. In this regard, NSS volunteers had a fruitful interaction with Mrs. Vinod, Supervisor, ICDS(Bain Bajalta), Anganwadi workers and a team of doctors from Directorate of Ayush J&K. The Anganwadi workers were encouraged to actively participate in the event in their respective localities contribute to spreading awareness, and take part in building a healthier and more nourished India. Dr. Sarika, Medical officer from Ayush Department focussed on reducing malnutrition, anaemia, growth monitoring, complimentary feeding, Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi and use of technology for better governance.
