GDC Vijaypur organises Intra-College competition on Gandhi Jayanti celebrations

JAMMU, Sept 26: Government Degree College, Vijaypur celebrated Intra-College competition in connection with Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations. The program started with the welcome address by Prof. Poonam Kundan, Co-Convenor Cultural Committee where she briefed the audience regarding the various activities viz. Bhajan Singing Competition, Seminar, Essay Writing Competition, Slogan Writing Competition and Reels making competition.
Students of the college actively participated in all the activities with great zeal and enthusiasm. In the Bhajan Singing Competition, first position was achieved by Amit of BA Semester V, Second position was attained by Riya Attri of BA Semester V and third position was acquired by Palak Panotra of BA Semester III. In the competition of Seminar on the theme " Gandhiji's Vision for a Sustainable Future", First position was acquired by Taniya Jamwal of BA Semester V, Second position was achieved by Shruti Jamwal of BA Semester V and third position was atained by Sharda Devi of BA Semester V.
In the Essay Writing Competition, on the theme "Truth and Non-Violence", First position was bagged by Rupaank Aryan of BA Semester V, Second position was achieved by Ranjit Kour of B.Sc. Semester III and third position was attained by Amjad Hussain of B.Sc. Semester III. In the Art Competition/Slogan Writing Competition with the theme "Truth and Non-Violence", First position was achieved by Anshita Sharma of BA Semester V and Second Position was attained by Payal Sharma of B.Sc. Semester III and third position was acquired by Vishali of B.Sc. Semester III.
In the Reels making competition, First position was attained by Shruti Jamwal of BA Semester V, Second position was attained by Riya attri of BA Semester V and third position was acquired by Anshita Sharma of BA Semester V. Competitions were adjudged by Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD Poilitical Science), Prof. Mamta Gupta (HOD Commerce) and Prof Ritu Bhagat (HOD Education).
Dr. Vandaan Verma, the principal of the college, shared insightful views on the importance of these activities in fostering creativity and community spirit.These initiatives not only encouraged student participation but also highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the institution.
The events were coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan (HOD Environmental Sciences) and Dr. Naseem Choudhary (HOD English) and Co-coordinated by Prof. Meetu Sharma (HOD Geography).
