BJP forgot martyrdom of Bhagat Singh, indulged in divisive politics: Rattan Lal Gupta
9/28/2024 9:29:52 PM

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 28: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), has come down heavily on the BJP, accusing the party of shattering the dreams of freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru. He stated that the BJP's current political approach is a betrayal of the martyrs' sacrifice.
While paying rich tributes on the 117th birth anniversary of Shaheed e Azam Bhagat Singh here today, Rattan Lal Gupta remarked that the BJP has forgotten the martyrdom of Bhagat Singh by indulging in divisive politics instead of working for the nation's unity and progress. "Bhagat Singh sacrificed his life for the country's freedom, dreaming of a prosperous and united India where each and every citizen live in peace, harmony, brotherhood and happily. What the BJP is continue to ignore real issues like the rise in terrorism, inflation, and unemployment," he said. Reacting over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address during a Sankalp Rally in Jammu in connection with the upcoming Assembly elections, the senior NC leader expressed his disappointment, noting that the Prime Minister failed to speak on vital issues concerning the public, such as unemployment, corruption, inflation, the lack of basic amenities like regular water and electricity supply and many other which the people of Jammu and Kashmir are facing for the last 10 years.
"Today, Jammu is witnessing an increase in terror activities due to the BJP's flawed policies even today when the PM was addressing a Sankalp rally in MAM stadium then encounter is going on in Kulgam where in 4 security personnel were injured. That shows the policies of BJP curbing terrorism are not so effective. The peace and harmony that prevailed during the National Conference regime in Jammu region have been replaced with fear and panic. The people of Jammu region no longer feel safe under this government," he added.
Highlighting the stark contrast between the BJP's performance and the expectations of the people, Rattan Lal Gupta remarked, "The BJP has miserably failed to stand up to the hopes and aspirations of the general public. Their promises remain unfulfilled, and the people are being left to fend for themselves amidst worsening living conditions."
