Congress, NC regimes betrayed Valmikis for over six decades in J&K: Arvind Mahajan

Jammu, Sept 28: In a scathing attack on the Congress and National Conference (NC) for their long-standing betrayal of the Valmiki community, Arvind Mahajan, senior BJP leader and contesting candidate from the Jammu West Assembly Constituency, exposed the harsh reality of how these parties subjected the Valmiki community to decades of marginalization and deprivation in Jammu & Kashmir.
Speaking at a public gathering of Valmiki Samaj in Bakshi Nagar area here today, Arvind Mahajan fiercely criticized the step-motherly treatment that the Valmikis endured for over 60 years under the Congress-NC regimes. He underscored that despite being an integral part of J&K, Valmikis were denied the basic right to secure State Subjects, depriving them of government jobs, admission to medical and engineering colleges, and any hope of a dignified future. “For decades, the Valmiki community was forced to live in shadows, with no access to the opportunities that other citizens took for granted,” he remarked.
The senior BJP leader highlighted that it was only under the historic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the bold decision to abrogate Article 370 that justice was finally served to the Valmiki community. “The BJP didn’t just promise change – we delivered it. By bringing J&K at par with the rest of the country, we ensured that the Valmikis are now treated as equals, with full rights to government jobs, and access to higher education, including prestigious medical and engineering courses,” he said.
Arvind Mahajan emphasized that the visionary policies of PM Modi have ushered in an era of inclusive development for all marginalized communities in J&K. “Today, Valmiki children are no longer second-class citizens – they are achieving their dreams, securing their future, and contributing to the nation’s growth. This is the power of the BJP’s vision for New India, where every community stands strong and equal,” he added.
He also drew attention to the benefits of Central Government-sponsored schemes reaching every section of society, ensuring that no one is left behind. “From housing and healthcare to employment and education, every citizen of J&K is reaping the fruits of Modi Ji’s governance. The days of neglect and injustice are over,” he stated confidently.
Calling upon the people of Jammu West to support him and BJP’s mission for a prosperous and united J&K, Arvind Mahajan urged voters to choose a party that stands for development, justice, and empowerment. “It is time to reject the politics of division and neglect that Congress and NC practiced for decades.
The future of J&K is bright, but only if we continue to stand with BJP and its vision for progress,” he said passionately.
Prominent among those who were present included Ex Corporator Anu Bali, Mandal President Atul Bakshi, Distt Vice President Brijesh Gupta, Shakti Kendra Indresh Gupta and Hardev Singh, Daniel, Victor, Rufas, Christopher, Abhi Vishal and Nikhil.
