GLDM GDC Hiranagar organised Voter Awareness Quiz Competition

Hiranagar, Sept 28: The Electoral Literacy Club(ELC) and NSS Unit of Govt GLDM Degree College Hiranagar, continuing their streak of SVEEP activities for Voter Awareness for the ongoing General Election to Legislative Assembly of J&K organized a Voters Awareness Quiz. Prof Amit Kumar Sharma, Convener ELC welcomed the gathering and introduced the context of the Voters Awareness Quiz.
In all, four teams comprising four participants each namely Democracy, Citizen, Voter, Election participated in the Quiz. The questions posed to the participants were based on the themes of Elections and Voting Rights. The team ‘Voters’ emerged as the winning team by responding correctly to the most of questions posed to them.
The Principal of the college, Dr. Pragya Khanna, while speaking on the ocassion, exhorted the students to be more inquisitive and know deeply on Voting Rights disseminating the message far and wide for further deepening the democratic ethos. Prof Amit Kumar Sharma, Convener ELC was the Quiz Master while Score was maintained by Prof Neeru Sharma and Time was kept by Mr Akhil, the Campus Ambassador. The formal Vote of thanks was presented by Prof Shapia Shameem, NSS PO. The other eminent faculty members present on the ocassion included Prof Rakesh Sharma, Prof Shivani Slathia, Prof Ganga Sharma, Prof Farzana and Dr Balwinder Kour.
