Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 2: To celebrate the 155th Birth Anniversary of Father of Nation, "Mahatma Gandhi Ji" & 120th birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri in collaboration with Sangam Tru art Production in its 462th Wednesday Series Musical Play "Swachhata Hi Seva" at its Rehearsal hall, Durga Bhawan, Janipur, Jammu. The function was inaugurated by Dr. Anju Dogra, Health Department, J&K Government. Among the Guest of Honors present were Mukesh Singh, Media person Jammu & Romesh Chander, Advisor, Shashvat Art Gallery Jammu were the Guest of Honor. The programe was commenced with songs "Vaishnav jan too tayne Khaiye", "Bolo jai jai kar Gandhi ji ki", "Aao aao sab jawano - jai Jawan Jai Kisan", "Pyari Ganga ae saddi himayala vishal dharti ae saddi ", Ek Basri Phi Sotu layea Bapu Phera pai Zaiyan", which was written, produced & Directed by Dr. M.L. Dogra and music was assisted by the Master Raju Bajgal. The chief Guest said, after concluding the mega cleanliness drive 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign ahead of the Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, India is observing 'Swachh Bharat Diwas' or 'Swachhta Diwas' today to mark the occasion and also repeated the words of Prime Minister Narendra Modi , "On behalf of all countrymen, salutations to Pujya Bapu on his birth anniversary. His life and ideals based on truth, harmony, and equality will always remain an inspiration for the countrymen." The program was also recorded & uploaded online on Social Media for benefit of the peoples. Earlier welcome address of Dr. M.L.Dogra, Chairman, highlighted the Relevance of Gandhian principles and also said in relevance in different field is questionable and unchangeable. For the very survival of human being, it is imperative on our part to act upon his advice because only on his relevance, we shall survive tighter or if we fail in our venture, we bound to perish together and also highlighted the importance of the day & urged upon the people to come forward in making India- " A Proud Nation" . On October 2nd of every year, India celebrates Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti. The birthday of Shastri, remembered as an outstanding statesman and leader, coincides with Mahatma Gandhi's birthday, in whose honour this day is also celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti. The third Prime Minister of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri, is cherished for his modesty, simplicity, and commitment to the country. Millions of people are still moved by his contribution to India, particularly in difficult times like the 1965 Indo-Pak War, and by his slogan, "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan." His leadership and achievements are honored nationwide on the anniversary of his birth each year. Sh.M.C.Kotwal, Secretary BLSKS, said on this great day, the nation honors his significant contributions to the struggle for independence and his philosophies on life. On this day, we commemorate Gandhi's message of non-violence and upholding the truth. Gandhi Jayanti & Shastri Jayanti is a national holiday in India and is observed across all states and union territories. The day will be remarked by special prayers and homages across the country. School-level and college-level celebrations are beautiful to watch. Various types of competitions are organised for students in remembrance of Gandhi & Shastri.
