BUDHAL, Oct 2: As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, a special Cleanliness Drive and Debate Competition were organized under the guidance of District Social Welfare Officer Abdul Raheem today at Palaash Budhal to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti. The event, held under the auspices of the Department of Social Welfare, Rajouri, aimed to reflect Mahatma Gandhi's unwavering commitment to cleanliness and community service.
Inmates of Palaash Budhal actively participated in the debate competition, delivering insightful speeches on the importance of cleanliness and sanitation in everyday life. Their speeches highlighted Mahatma Gandhi's vision of a clean and self-reliant nation, emphasizing how Swachhata (cleanliness) forms an integral part of his philosophy.
Incharge Superintendent Zahid Farooq encouraged the inmates to take an active role in maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings, underlining Gandhi's principle that cleanliness is next to godliness. He also spoke about Mahatma Gandhi's commitment to non-violence, stressing the importance of adopting Gandhian values in modern society.
The event was not just limited to discussions; a hands-on cleanliness drive was conducted in and around the premises, involving both staff and inmates.
