Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 4: Senior artist Jang S. Verman from Jammu will participate in an International Art Workshop bein organized as a part of International Festival to be organized by International Roerich Memorial Trust (IRMT), Naggar (Kullu, HP, India) and International Centre of the Roerichs (Moscow, Russia) from 3rd October to 23rd October, 2024 at the IRMT Complex, Naggar, Kullu. The festival is dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of Russian Painter, Scientist, Thinker Nicholas Roerich, who settled in India, and the 120th birth anniversary of his younger son Svetoslav, a renowned painter born in India. The festival is being co-organized by Deptt. of Language, Art and Culture of the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh (India); Kullu Administration; Embassy of Russian Federation in the Republic of India (New Delhi); Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of India (Ussian House in New Delhi); Historic Films Studio Faraon (St. Petersburg, Russia); The Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art & Design (Russia); Indian Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (INDAPRYAL, New Delhi, India); and International Roerichs Heritage Preservation Committee (Moscow, Russia). A number of art & culture activities, exhibitions and competitions will be conducted during the festival. Jang S. Verman is one among the sixteen artists from Russia, Malaysia and India who are participating in this International Art Workshop from 6th to 8th October, 2024. The other participating artists are Antonina Gadenova, Elena Koshinova, Elena Yakosanova, Lada Ashikova, Ludmila Kirsanova, Maria Ivanova, Nadezhda Kobzistova and Svetlana Ashikova (Russia); Suzlee Ibrahim and Lukman Nul Hakim Bin Rosnan (Malaysia); and Harsh Inder Loomba, Prabhinder Lall and Sangita Sharma (India). It may be mentioned here that Jang S. Verman has participated in hundreds of International, National and state level art exhibitions and art camps in Sweden, South Korea, Vietnam, Turkey, etc. and India at Jammu, Chandigarh, New Delhi, Banglore, Goa, Kullu, Shimla, Dalhoussie, Amritsar, Rajouri, Chamba, Bhamlada (Pathankot), Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Kargil, Bharmour (HP), Guwahati, Mansar, Akhnoor, Mizoram, Sunderbani, Uttarvahini, Bhubneshwar (Odisha) etc. many times. He has been awarded by All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society (AIFACS), New Delhi; Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi, Chandigarh (State, and Regional Awards); HP State Museum, Shimla; Centre for Cultural Resources (CCRT), New Delhi; National KVS Incentive Award for Teachers (New Delhi); and honoured by a large number of art & culture organizations. His two books of Punjabi poetry and short stories have been published. He has worked as an Art Director of a Hindi Feature Film. His Biography has been included in 'Asia Who's Who (Vol. IX)'; 'Indo- American Who's Who'; 'Admirable Achievers of Twentieth Century' etc.; Documentary on him has been telecast by DD's National Channels. Programme on his life and contribution has also been broadcasted on All India Radio, Jammu. His columns on Art & Culture have also been published in many news papers. His short stories and poetry have been published in magazines and books, and presented on stage and radio. |
