10/5/2024 9:24:27 PM
Early Times Report
KATHUA, Oct 5: On the occasion of World Animal Welfare Day, the young learners of Class UKG at Delhi Public School Junior, Kathua, participated in a heartwarming and educational event aimed at raising awareness about animal care and protection. The event, guided by the dedicated teachers Anu Bala, Sonam Gupta, Anu Jasrotia, and Rabita, showcased the children's enthusiasm, creativity, and empathy as they took part in a special activity designed to instill compassion towards animals.
Each student was assigned an animal character, and with remarkable confidence, they delivered three to four lines about their respective animals. This engaging activity not only helped them learn about different species but also provided an opportunity to improve their public speaking and presentation skills. To make the event even more interactive and enjoyable, the teachers encouraged the students to mimic the sounds of their assigned animals. This playful approach made learning fun while also driving home important lessons about animal care and welfare.
The presence of Monika Singh, the School In-charge, added further significance to the event. In her address to the gathering, Singh emphasized the importance of educating children about kindness and compassion towards animals, especially on a day dedicated to their welfare. She spoke passionately about the role of such activities in shaping the moral foundation of young minds, instilling values of responsibility and empathy. Singh also took the opportunity to express her heartfelt gratitude to the parents for their unwavering support and involvement, recognizing that the success of the event was greatly enhanced by their cooperation.
She remarked, "Teaching children about the importance of animal welfare from a young age helps nurture kindness and responsibility. We are proud to see our students engage in this activity with such enthusiasm and care."
The event concluded with an acknowledgment from the school management and principal, who commended the combined efforts of both the students and the teaching staff. The management praised the dedication of the teachers, whose careful planning ensured the day was both educational and memorable for the students. The principal also highlighted the value of such activities in the holistic development of young learners, reinforcing the school's commitment to nurturing well-rounded, compassionate individuals.
The World Animal Welfare Day celebration provided a meaningful platform for the UKG students to learn and grow, not only in their knowledge of animals but also in their social and communication skills. Through this event, the children gained a deeper understanding of the importance of caring for animals and respecting their place in the world.
This memorable celebration, focused on fostering compassion for all living beings, left a lasting impression on the students, teachers, and parents alike. It was a vivid reminder of the school's dedication to instilling core values of kindness and responsibility in its students, and it will undoubtedly serve as a cherished memory for all those involved in making the day a success.
