LG’s Message
10/9/2024 11:00:17 PM
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s heartfelt message of gratitude to the people of Jammu and Kashmir resonates deeply as a celebration of democracy’s triumph in the region.
LG Sinha expressed his sincere appreciation for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, acknowledging their role in empowering and strengthening the democratic process. He lauded the efforts of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), the Election Commission officials, the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), and the security forces for their tireless and diligent work in ensuring that the elections were transparent, free, and fair.
Their dedication and professionalism ensured that the sanctity of the ballot was upheld at every step, reinforcing the principles of democratic integrity.
One of the standout features of this election was its peaceful nature, despite the challenges that J&K has historically faced. The role of security forces and election officials cannot be overstated. Their commitment to ensuring a safe environment for voters to exercise their democratic right contributed significantly to the success of the process. This election serves as a testament to the fact that democracy can thrive even in the most challenging environments when institutions are robust and the people are determined.
Lieutenant Governor Sinha’s congratulations to the newly elected members of the Legislative Assembly, particularly the NC-led alliance that emerged victorious, reflect his statesmanship and respect for the democratic process.
His words, “Best wishes to them in the service of the people,” are a reminder that elected representatives have a critical responsibility to fulfill the aspirations of those who voted for them.
As J&K moves forward, it is vital for all political parties and leaders to work together to prioritize the growth and development of the region.
LG Sinha’s call to uphold the Constitution of India as the guiding light is a timely reminder of the values that should anchor governance in J&K. The Constitution embodies the ideals of justice, equality, and liberty, which are essential for the region’s progress.
His emphasis on unity and collective effort underscores the need for political leaders, irrespective of their affiliations, to work towards the welfare of the people.
The peaceful conduct of the election and the high voter participation are testimonies to the resilience and vibrancy of democracy in Jammu and Kashmir. The people of the region have demonstrated their faith in the democratic values that define India. They have sent a clear message that their voice matters, and they are determined to play an active role in shaping their future.
