SHOPIAN, Oct 16: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today chaired a meeting with District Mineral Officer (DMO) Shopian and lease holders of mineral blocks of the district in order to seek compliance on sustainable and scientific mining activities.
During the meeting, the lease holders were reminded about their responsibilities for conducting the mining activities as per statutory requirements and guidelines.
DMO Shopian, Naseer Ahmad apprised that 20 mineral blocks exist in the district and submitted the status of mineral blocks, their activities by way of adhering to norms of sustainable mining, etc.
The DDC on the occasion engaged in comprehensive deliberation on various environmental, social and economic parameters of mining in the district.
