Early Times Report RAJOURI, Oct 22: As part of the Government of India's commitment to building a drug-free society, JKSPYM SLCA J&K, in collaboration with the National Institute of Social Defense (NISD) and the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, organized a one-day training program for Master Volunteers under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) in Rajouri. The event, held at Dak Bunglow, Rajouri, was also supported by the district administration. The program was graced by the presence of District Program Officer for ICDS, Mr. Fareed Ahmed Kohli, and District Social Welfare Officer, Mr. Abdul Raheem. Addressing the attendees, Mr. Kohli expressed concern over the increasing substance abuse problem, particularly among the youth in Jammu and Kashmir, and encouraged the Master Volunteers to make full use of the training to help combat this growing issue. The event began with a welcome note and an introduction to the JKSPYM organization and SLCA J&K by Ms. Pallavi Singh, Program Director at JKSPYM. A total of 85 Master Volunteers from Rajouri district participated and received professional training aimed at empowering them with the skills and knowledge to address substance abuse and promote drug demand reduction in their communities. The training program featured four comprehensive sessions, including: Information on Drugs, Drug Use, and Its Consequences District-Level Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan Intervention Spectrum in Drug Treatment and Prevention Roles and Responsibilities of Master Volunteers/Nasha Mukt Bharat Leaders Resource persons from SLCA J&K delivered informative presentations on the prevalence of drug use in India and shared strategies for preventing and treating substance abuse. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants, symbolizing the beginning of their journey as advocates for a drug-free Rajouri. This training program not only enhanced participants' understanding of substance abuse but also empowered them to become active agents of change, committed to making a difference in their communities and supporting the national vision of a drug-free India. |
