Udhampur, Oct 22: A three-day training programme focusing on Social Defence Issues for police personnel commenced today at the SK Police Academy (SKPA), organized in collaboration with the National Institute of Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The event is attended by 40 officers and officials from the J&K Police. The course aims to enhance the quality of services offered to vulnerable groups requiring specialized legal and social care. Participants will gain insights into social issues, relevant legal frameworks, and practical field exposure, fostering innovation in social defence practices. The inaugural session was led by Shri Rajinder Kumar Gupta, IPS, SSP, and Deputy Director of SKPA, who welcomed participants on behalf of the Director of SKPA. He highlighted critical social defence topics, including transgender rights, beggary, drug abuse, and elderly care, emphasizing the essential role of police personnel in promoting justice and ensuring citizen well-being. The programme is coordinated by Inspector Abdul Momin, with assistance from SI Abdul Rashid of SKPA. |
