Suchetgarh, Oct 28: In a historic development, the long-awaited blacktopping of the vital road link from Gharana to Bakarpur towards the Zero Line Defence Road commenced today. The project, which is being undertaken for the first time since India's independence, marks a significant step towards improving connectivity in the region. The inauguration was jointly carried out by MLA Suchetgarh Prof. Gharu Ram and Taranjit Singh Tony, DDC Suchetgarh and senior Congress leader in presence of Sarpanch Gharana, Gurdayal Singh Soni and others. The road work is part of a larger project worth Rs 4.5 crore, funded under the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). The improved road will not only facilitate better movement but will also aid in the transportation of essential agricultural equipment like tractors, combines, and other machinery, boosting the region's agrarian economy. Speaking at the inauguration, MLA Prof Gharu Ram said that the commencement of this road project marks a positive beginning in enhancing the region's infrastructure, providing much-needed relief to the farming community, and ensuring smoother connectivity to the Zero Line Defence Road. |
