Early Times Report
KATHUA, Oct 28: In a significant move to enhance social security awareness and address grievances, the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Jammu, in collaboration with the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), organized the outreach program Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0 (Suvidha Samagam for ESIC) at the SICOP IID Centre Conference Hall in Kathua.
The event was graced by prominent officials, including P.F. Commissioner Rizwan Uddin, RPFC-I Pankaj Rastogi, Regional Director, DTNBWED Jammu, and Ajeet Kumar Singh, Assistant Director of ESIC, Jammu. These officials actively listened to the grievances of workers and employers, providing crucial handholding support to those in need.
The primary objective of the program was to sensitize employers and employees about the provisions of social security, including themes like "Filing Grievance." Participants were educated on how to utilize various grievance filing systems, including EPFiGMS and CPGRAMS, and were informed about digital services and their rights regarding employment.
Rizwan Uddin emphasized the importance of participation in the Nidhi Aapke Nikat Program, urging subscribers, pensioners, and employees' representatives to engage actively in the outreach initiatives. The event also served as a platform for employers to discuss challenges they face in the enrollment of eligible employees, especially those migrating from other states.
Representatives from local industries, including the Vice President of the Kathua Industry Association, Vinay Mahajan, raised important issues regarding the exit of older employees and increasing membership among eligible workers. The program highlighted the necessity for employers in Kathua to ensure that all eligible employees are enrolled in social security schemes.
One particular concern was raised by Sh. Swarn Singh regarding the rejection of his claim for marriage advance due to outdated records. The officials assured immediate action to rectify the issues, including the updating of his father's name in the system. Similarly, Sh. Kishan Chand had his grievance addressed during the camp, as his pension contribution was transferred correctly after an erroneous deduction.
The program concluded with a strong emphasis on the importance of social security services, including the Employees' Pension Scheme and the enhanced quantum of the Employees' Deposit Linked Insurance Schemes, which have been available to the employees of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh since November 2019. The officials reiterated their openness to valuable suggestions during the Nidhi Aapke Nikat program to ensure effective grievance redressal and improved awareness among stakeholders.
