Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 31: The Forest Department has seized vehicle JK02AD6433, under the authority of the Range Officer, Bahu, for violating Section 41 of the Indian Forest Act, 1927, and related transport regulations. The vehicle was transporting forest produce with only a tax invoice, which does not meet the legal requirements for a transport permit. Investigations revealed the tax invoice, issued by a local sawmill, contravened established guidelines, raising compliance concerns. The case is currently under review in the Authorized Officer's Court, where further actions will be determined. The Forest Department reiterated its commitment to enforcing regulations and preventing unauthorized forest produce transport. |
