Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 31: Mission Director HADP/JKCIP, Rahul Yadav, chaired a meeting on the Jammu and Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement Project (JKCIP) at the Directorate of Agriculture, Jammu. Key stakeholders, including the directors of Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, and Sheep Husbandry, along with other agriculture officials, discussed strategies for advancing agricultural competitiveness and resilience. Yadav emphasized skill development through training programs for trainers and urged focus on expanding horticulture in underrepresented districts. He highlighted forming Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to support niche crop production with financial backing, aiming to improve productivity, value addition, and market access across the Union Territory. JKCIP targets several areas, including Agri Niche Crop Production, climate-smart horticulture, and Agri-Business Ecosystem Development, with support for startups and vulnerable farming communities. The project strives to enhance J&K's agricultural economy, focusing on sustainable, market-driven growth. |
